Chestnut Street Trail
Connects School Road Park to Downtown Hatfield Borough with connections to business, employment and recreation, this 1.5-mile multi-purpose trail is great for those on foot or non-motorized wheels traveling between School Road Park and Hatfield Borough.
From the Hatfield Community Park going north, pedestrians and bicyclists follow a paved trail to Bronze Drive in the Line Lexington Industrial Park. The trail then becomes "share the road" along Bronze Drive and North Penn Road. The entrance into the Babcock and Wilcox Company parking lot at Sterling Drive is part of the trail, and leads people to the rear entrance of School Road Park.
Heading south, the trail runs from where Hatfield Community Park's section of Chestnut Street ends at the Dog Park, through woodland, to Maple Avenue. It then becomes "share the road" along Maple Avenue to Chestnut Street, with a turn onto Chestnut Street. The West Branch Neshaminy Creek, a bridge for "pedestrian/non-motorized wheels only" takes people into the center of Hatfield Borough, with its core commercial district and residential streets lined with sidewalks. At this point, the Chestnut Street Trail links to a completed section of the future 25-mile Liberty Bell Trail that is planned to connect East Norriton in Montgomery County to Quakertown in Bucks County.
